Breckenridge Ski Resort

Breckenridge is a popular spot in the United States, located in Breckenridge, Colorado. It has a long and rich history that dates back to the beginning of skiing in this country.

Breckenridge is not a ski resort, but a true old west town. It was established in 1850 to provide services for the local gold miners. This wild west heritage gives Breckenridge a lot of character and color, as well as a reputation for being extremely friendly.

Breck was the first Colorado ski resort to allow snowboarders, and they hosted the 1986 World Snowboard Championships. Breckenridge Resort is a beacon of excellence for freestyle riding and snowboarding.

Breckenridge’s terrain is spread over multiple mountain peaks, offering 187 trails and 2,908 acres for skiing and snowboarding. There are 34 lifts serving the terrain, including some fast lifts.

Breckenridge has many slopes that are suitable for all levels of skiers. There is also a ski school available for those who wish to learn or improve their skills. Many of the trails can be rated green or blue so intermediates and beginners are both happy. Some of the black runs can be groomed so they are suitable for intermediates. You can see why 48% of the terrain is groomed. Moguls, fun tree and alpine bowls are some other terrain.

Breckenridge is known for its unique terrain parks. You can easily move from beginner to pro level by having separate terrain parks. Warning: If you go to the expert terrain park or pipe, you might feel demoralized after watching the pros at work.

Breckenridge receives an average 353 inches (8.9 meters) of Colorado snow each season. Mother Nature is helped by hundreds of snowmaking guns covering an incredible 22.5% of the mountain.

The ski resort’s elevation can improve the snow quality. At 9,600 feet, the base of the ski resort sits high. However, the top of the ski area is quite high. Breck’s pride & joy is the Imperial Express Superchair, which drops skiers and boarders off at super high altitudes. If you’re really keen, you can also hike up to 12,998 ft.

Breckenridge is known for its outstanding dining and happy hour apres-ski bars. There are also many nightlife options. Breck is a great place to party! Breckenridge is a charming town with many shops. For a day on the slopes, you can also do snowmobiling, dog-sledding, and sleigh rides.
